Help shape one of the biggest untold stories in Scottish social history. South Georgia Heritage Trust and the South Georgia Trust have launched a project called The Whalers' Memory Bank and are seeking help from former whalers and their families. They will be running a series of workshops at the museum on Sat 11 & Sun 12 May.

Any former whalers and their families are welcome to come along, bring any memories or stories you would like to share, but most importantly be happy to help South Georgia Heritage Trust and the South Georgia Museum shape its early thoughts and ideas on the Memory Bank.

There will be two workshops on Saturday 11 May at the Shetland Museum at 10.30am and 2.30pm, each lasting around 1.5 hours.

To book a space on Sat 11 May email memorybank@sght.org or just turn up betweem 11am and 3pm on Sunday 12 May and meet the team.

Additional drop-in workshops:
Mon 13 May | Whiteness and Wesidale Hall | 2.30pm - 4.30pm
Tues 14 May | Mid Yell Hall | 2.30 - 4.30pm
