Cyanotype Workshop (Adults)

Sunday, April 13th 2025 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Shetland Museum & Archives
Workshop for adults
Price: £25
Ever wondered where the term ‘blueprint’ originates? You’ve guessed it - it’s from the 1842 invention of a cyanotype process.
Join photographer Chris G Smith to explore one of the earliest photographic printing methods, cyanotype.
To create your cyanotypes, you can either choose from a selection of transparencies and objects available on the day, or, to make them even more personal you can bring your own.
To do this, please either bring in your own found materials – this can be anything which lets light through it, or you can supply us with up to two images ahead of the workshop which Chris will turn into transparencies for you to use on the day.
Please send images to: museumlearning@shetlandamenity.org no later than 5pm Monday 7th April.
