Shetland Museum and Archives is pleased to present a classical Viola Concert by Nora Taksdals - principal violist, The Norwegian Radio Orchestra
An opportunity to hear live acclaimed Norwegian violist Nora Taksdals. The viola she will be preforming on dates back to 1745 and was built in Venice by Domenico Busan which is on loan from the Dextra Musica Foundation. Nora will play a varied program including pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), György Ligeti (1923-2006) and a selection of Shetland and Norwegian Jigs, Shanties and Folk tunes.
Nora will be arriving in Shetland straight from Orkney’s St Magnus Festival. She is the artistic leader of Gloppen Musikkfest, a chamber music festival in Nordfjord, has played for both the Begen and Oslo Philharmonic Orchestras.
This is a free event and no booking is required.
