Hama Bead Fair Isle
Monday, September 25th 2017 - Tuesday, September 26th 2017
This is a two-part workshop over two afternoons (Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 September) and looks at some of the common motifs found in Fair Isle knitwear and enables children who may have no knitting skills to enjoy the design process.
Using the world famous textile collections of Shetland Museum and Archives as inspiration, students will be inspired to create their own designs in Hama beads. This workshop is split over 2 sessions.
In the first session on the Monday we will look at pieces of Fair Isle knitting and discuss how knitters plan their design on graph paper and have a go at our designs. In the second session on the Tuesday we will finish our designs and then use Hama Beads to create them. Suitable for ages 7 – 12.
Time: 3.30pm - 5.00pm, both days.
Ticket price - £15.00 (for two sessions)
Please note that this event is part of the Shetland Wool Week programme and booking is via the separate box office - www.thelittleboxoffice.com/shetlandwoolweek
