Join us at the Shetland Museum and Archives as we go Viking for the day. You can look forward to a fun-filled day of Viking activities, talks and workshops suitable for all the family. From Viking sagas with award-winning storyteller Thomas Olsen to Viking warrior make up workshops, kids craft activities, a live feed direct from JORVIK Viking Centre, meet the experts and much more. VIKING VILLAGE - Visit our Viking Village where you’ll have the chance to meet the experts and discover more about Viking life. They’ll be hands on demonstrations and activities for all the family, including coin making, a photobooth and crafts. Jump aboard our Peerie Viking Boat and delve into our dressing up box and become Vikings for the day!

THOR’S HAMMER PENDANT WORKSHOP - Come along and discover facts about the Norse God Thor and his magical hammer then make your own lucky hammer for protection.

GO-BERSERK! - WARRIOR MAKE UP WORKSHOPS - Join makeup artist Babs Clubb and learn how to create Berserker warrior make-up effects. Learn a new make-up skill and transform yourself into a Viking warrior so you can attend the International Roadshow at Mareel in true Viking style.

LIVE FROM JORVIK VIKING CENTRE!
For the first time in Shetland, we will be linking live to the JORVIK Viking Centre, where their experts will be able to interact with the audience to speak about life in Viking times. During this family friendly session, the audience will be able to handle replica objects and even experience the odours of JORVIK!
