Join author Laughton Johnston for an afternoon of reminiscence and readings celebrating the launch of his latest book Tom Henderson: The Seaman Who Founded a Museum.
Laughton will give an illustrated talk about the life of former museum curator, Tom Henderson. Henderson by turn, seaman, founder of the Shetland Museum, restorer of artefacts, maritime historian, craftsman, hotelier, Council Convenor, writer, and the go-to Shetlander throughout the second half of the 20th century on almost any aspect of the islands' history. The event will also include readings from Mark R Smith and end with a Q & A with Laughton joined by Ian Tait and Brian Smith.
There will be a chance to meet the author for book signings at the end of the event with books available to purchase from the gift shop.
