Hjaltibonhoga – Shetland Fiddlers of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

This exhibition displays a small selection of the many gifts given to Hjaltibonhoga by fellow performers at the Tattoo and other international events. Also in the display are costumes and commemorative photographs.
Hjaltibonhoga had their first rehearsal on the 18th May 2014, to prepare for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. They are now attending their fifth Edinburgh Tattoo. They have taken part in over seas Tattoo events in Melbourne - Australia, Wellington - New Zealand, Dusseldorf – Germany and Oslo – Norway. This now international group is proud to have Shetland at its core with most of its members living in the Islands. To date the band has seen a membership of almost 300 fiddlers and will have played to just under 1.5 million people live.
