Our photo archive recently received a donation of images belonging to Thomas Doherty, a semi-professional photographer who lived in Shetland briefly. Thomas and his family lived in Shetland in 1958-62, when he worked in the telephone exchange in Greenfield, Lerwick. His extensive collection of images covers many social events from this period in Shetland including weddings, Up Helly Aa, parties, portraits and social events. The collection is partially available on our online photo archive.
This exhibition displays images from a Post Office Bairns' Chirstmas Party c. 1960. Help from the public to identify faces in the photos would be gratefully appreciated.
