Inside Venue Facilities

Auditorium

Shetland Museum and Archives Auditorium is a spacious and airy room with retractable seating, allowing the large area to be used in a variety of different ways to suit all types of event.

Boat Hall

The Boat hall is a stunning open four-storey space with full length windows looking out over the dock, almost bringing the sea into the room.

Foyer

The large open-plan Foyer area is an impressive space with recycled traditional flagstone floors and a welcoming atmosphere on entry to the building.

Learning Room

Situated just off the main Foyer area, the Learning Room is a perfect smaller space for meetings, workshops or break-out sessions.

Hay's Dock

Hay’s Dock is a beautifully restored historic dock, and the oldest working example in Lerwick. Seals and seabirds are commonly seen in the water, and the collection of traditional and restored boats on the beach and in the water provides an authentic and photogenic outlook.
