Shetland Museum and Archives reopens to the public
We are delighted to announce that the Shetland Museum and Archives will reopen from tomorrow (Tuesday 8 February) following a temporary closure due to a fault with the heating system.
The fault has now been rectified and we are looking forward to welcoming the public back.
The Peerie Oorick exhibition “A’ll Tell dee a Story” currently on in Da Gadderie, comes to a close on Wednesday 9 February, so this is the last chance to discover and see the miniature world of Ann Marie’s Ooricks – little characters living in rural Shetland, as well as 70 colourful original illustrations from her children’s books exhibited together. There is also a brilliant trail through the museum galleries to find all the Oorick characters. Look out for more Peerie Oorick adventures in the museum as part of the Year of Stories.
To visit the museum, no booking is necessary.
For those intending to visit the archives, this must be booked in advance through the museum box office
Mask wearing is still mandatory and we are also cleaning regularly throughout to make sure your visit is as safe as possible.
